Jyotish is one of the great, and most practical aspects of the vedic system because it provides very powerful tools for understanding and improving the nature of our day to day experiences in life.

Our first guest is Penny Farrow who will be discussing these questions:
1)  What is meant by Sampradaya?
2)  Jyotisha is a Vedanga.  What does that mean?

Penny Farrow has a B.S. and M.S. degree from Cornell University in the Biological Sciences and has had extensive career experience as a teacher, researcher and business woman. She has been involved in the study of the Vedic tradition since 1971. She has studied Jyotish intensely primarily under the tutelage of Hart deFouw and is a teacher of Jyotisha and Sanskrit at the Vedic Vidya Institute in San Rafael.  She was honored with a certificate from the Institute of Astrology (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) in New Delhi for promoting Jyotisha in the USA. She is published author and has been asked to teach Jyotisha as Vedic Heritage at the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Saylorsburg, PA.
