The Origins of Ganesha, part 2 – Podcast #77

We continue with the stories of the eight forms of Ganesha from the Mahotaka Purana; each one manifesting to subdue a particular demon; symbolic of one of the main failings of humanity (anger, lust, pride etc.).  Then we enjoy the story of how Ganesha helped to cure Kubera, the god of money, of his pride by eating everything in sight. Finally we see how Ganesha pujas contains wonderful levels of symbolism within the ritual offerings.

Chanting is Ganesha Pancharatnam followed by Ganesha Upanishad.
